Frequently Asked Questions

I am adding this section to help first time customers as well as seasoned customers who need some basic help. Please help me by supplying me with questions that you think should be included here. Larry@blamethedog.ca

Where is this service available?

This is a Global service meant to be available in all of North America and beyond, as long as you have high speed internet. If you are unsure of whether service will work in your area, please ask for a free trial.

How many channels can I expect to get?

Each service is slightly different, however you can expect to get literally thousands of live TV channels. (2000 - 18,000)

Are these specialty TV channels designed specifically for this service?

The channel list for each service will vary but rest assured they are your normal everyday channels. You will find all your local channels as well as foreign content (depending on service).

Will services buffer?

Buffering of channels is usually a product of your personal internet service, not the cable alternative service. Doing regular maintenance will eliminate buffering 99% of the time. Google is a great source for finding buffering solutions. With ISP throttling and blocking, a VPN has become an indispensable tool (See Surfshark link below).

Can I get channels from my home country?

We carry many channel lists from many countries. If you are looking for a certain one and want to know which service is best for you, please contact me and I will try my best to make the right recommendation. Larry@blamethedog.ca

What is the deal with VOD?

VOD, or video on demand is not a service that can be guaranteed with any cable alternative service. While some of our services may include limited VOD, this can disappear without notice. Please consider this when making your purchase decision.

Can I expect Downtime?

Yes. Our Cable alternative is just that, an alternative to cable TV, not a replacement. If you are looking for 100% functionality, 100% of the time, you should be looking at Cable TV with their multi million dollar infrastructures. Having said that; if you set your limits to 95% of channels, 95% of the time, you will be more than pleasantly surprised.

Do I Need A VPN?

A VPN has become almost a necessity with any cable alternative service. A VPN gives you complete anonymity while going about your daily online activities. Completely hide all of your tracks and protect yourself from unwanted advertising gathered by both your ISP and other unwanted entities. Link to Fastestvpn provided below.

Update: A lot of ISP's (internet service providers) in Canada and elsewhere are now performing limited blocking and throttling. There has never been a better time to consider using a VPN.
